Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ribs:
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if it hasn’t already been removed. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
- Season the Ribs:
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs. Drizzle the olive oil over the ribs and rub it in to help the spices stick.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the Ribs:
- Place the ribs in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cut the ribs into smaller sections to fit them in without overcrowding.
- Cook the ribs at 380°F (193°C) for 15 minutes. Flip the ribs and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the ribs are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The internal temperature should reach at least 145°F (63°C), but for fall-off-the-bone tenderness, aim for around 190-200°F (88-93°C).
- Optional Glaze:
- If you prefer saucy ribs, brush the ribs with barbecue sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking. Alternatively, you can serve the sauce on the side.
- Serve:
- Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before cutting them into individual portions. Serve with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
