Instructions
Prepare the Apple Filling:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well-coated.
- Transfer the apple mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish or a similar-sized ovenproof dish.
Make the Crisp Topping:
- In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Assemble and Bake:
- Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apple filling.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Allow the apple crisp to cool slightly before serving.
Serve:
- Serve the apple crisp warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
