Ingredients

  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons flour (for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Sear the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef tips and sear until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  • Sauté Onions: In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until softened.
  • Add Flour: Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for about a minute to create a roux.
  • Add Broth and Soy Sauce: Gradually pour in the beef broth and soy sauce, stirring to combine.
  • Combine and Simmer: Return the beef tips to the skillet, add garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
  • Serve: Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.
