Instructions
- Prepare the butter cake mix as directed and divide it between a greased bar tin and a square cake tin. Bake as per instructions.
- Cut the square cake in half vertically and place the bar cake on its side, cutting it in half and shaping it for the head and neck.
- Shape the duck’s body from the square cake pieces, cutting off corners and shaping the tail end.
- Position the head and neck piece, securing it with bamboo skewers.
- Tint the frosting with apricot food coloring and cover the cake, leaving the sides fluffy to represent feathers.
- Use small colored sweets for eyes and buttons, surround the eyes with thin strips of licorice, use yellow popcorn for down on the head, and potato crisps for the bill.
- Finish with a large bow at the duck’s neck.
