Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 flatbread or pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Cook the Bacon:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Discard excess bacon fat from the skillet, leaving about 1 tablespoon.
- Prepare the Brussels Sprouts:
- In the same skillet, add the olive oil and Brussels sprouts. Sauté over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until they start to caramelize and become tender. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the Flatbread:
- If using store-bought flatbread, place it on a baking sheet. If using pizza dough, roll it out to fit your baking sheet.
- Spread the sautéed Brussels sprouts evenly over the flatbread. Sprinkle the cooked bacon on top.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the top.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the flatbread is crisp and golden.
- Finish and Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before cutting into slices. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired. Serve warm.
