Ingredients
Scale
- 6 small flour tortillas
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter (or vegetable oil)
- Cooking spray (optional, for baking)
- Bat-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If frying, heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Cut Tortillas: Use a bat-shaped cookie cutter to cut the tortillas into bat shapes. You can also cut them into triangles if you prefer traditional chips.
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- Coat with Butter: Brush both sides of the bat-shaped tortilla chips with melted butter. If baking, lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Sugar Coating: Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over both sides of the coated chips, ensuring they are evenly covered.
- Bake or Fry:
- For Baking: Arrange the chips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until they are crisp and golden, flipping halfway through.
- For Frying: Fry the chips in hot oil for about 1-2 minutes per side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Cool: Allow the chips to cool slightly before serving. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.
- Serve: Arrange the chips on a platter and enjoy with your favorite dips or on their own!
