- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 12 oz beer (any type, but a lager or ale works best)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional, for extra garlic flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5-inch (23×13 cm) loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- Add Cheese:
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed throughout the flour mixture.
- Combine Wet Ingredients:
- Pour the beer and melted butter into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. If using minced garlic, fold it in at this stage.
- Transfer to Pan:
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
