Ingredients

Scale

For the Stromboli:

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices (or your favorite filling)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Black olives (for eyes)

For the Dipping Sauce:

  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni evenly over the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
  • Carefully roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other, sealing the edges well.
  • Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Cut slits in the top of the stromboli to resemble mummy bandages. Brush the top with a beaten egg.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While the stromboli bakes, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and olive oil in a small saucepan. Heat until warm.
  • Once baked, remove the stromboli from the oven and place black olives for eyes before serving.
