- 12 oz spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Spaghetti:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Add the dried basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Simmer the Sauce:
- Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and the flavors meld together.
- Combine and Serve:
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
- Serve:
- Serve hot, with extra Parmesan cheese on the side if preferred. Enjoy!
