Ingredients
Scale
- 1 store-bought or homemade pizza dough
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (or more if desired)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 oz spicy chorizo sausage, sliced or crumbled
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
- Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- Prepare the Chorizo:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chorizo until browned and fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes if crumbled). If using pre-cooked chorizo, you can skip this step. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
- Roll Out the Dough:
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or a preheated pizza stone.
- Assemble the Pizza:
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
- Add the cooked chorizo, red onion, red bell pepper, and jalapeño slices (if using).
- Drizzle the olive oil over the pizza and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat if desired.
- Bake:
- Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Remove the pizza from the oven and garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley.
- Slice and serve hot!
