For the Cookies:

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour

- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
For the Spider Decorations:
- Edible spider decorations (available at cake decorating stores or online)
- Optional: Candy eyes or small pieces of black licorice for spider legs
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Cookie Dough:
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Shape the Cookies:
- Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake:
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decorate with Spiders:
- Once the cookies are completely cooled, place the edible spider decorations on top of each cookie.
- If using candy eyes or licorice for spider legs, carefully add them to create a more detailed spider effect.
