Instructions
- Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add Eggs and Extracts: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Add Food Coloring: Add green food coloring to the batter and mix until you reach your desired shade of green. Don’t be shy; the brighter, the better!
- Scoop the Batter: Using a cookie scoop or a measuring cup, fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Make the Frosting: While the cupcakes are cooling, make the frosting. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until combined. Add vanilla extract and a splash of milk, then beat on high speed until the frosting is fluffy and smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed.
- Frost the Cupcakes: Once the cupcakes are completely cool, use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to frost each cupcake generously with the chocolate frosting.
- Add Decorations: Sprinkle edible glitter over the frosted cupcakes for a magical touch. Top with spooky decorations like gummy worms, chocolate spiders, or Halloween-themed sprinkles to complete the look.
- Serve and Enjoy: Arrange your Witches Brew Cupcakes on a platter, and get ready to watch everyone’s eyes light up with delight!
